“Wonder Woman 1984,” The sequel to the enormous hit that was released three years ago, performed remarkably well over the weekend, especially when considering the circumstances of the global pandemic.

In light of this phenomenon, Warner Brothers is putting the third installment of the movie franchise on a fast track to theaters. 

This will be the fifth movie to feature Gal Gadot as the iconic DC superhero, and Patty Jenkins will once again be directing the third Wonder Woman movie.

However, sources indicate that it could be the last time that Jenkins will be involved in the franchise.

The current feature pulled in $85 million in the first three days of its worldwide release.

This is not a record-breaking number for superhero movies, but it is amazing during a time when most theaters are closed for safety reasons.

This figure is only part of the story, given that it does not include the revenue produced from the HBO Max streaming event of the movie.

The media company has not divulged the numbers in regards to the online version, but it’s safe to assume that the figure is impressive enough to encourage a rush to production of a third film.

The Chairman of Warner Brothers, Toby Emmerich, made a statement to the media relating to the decision to fast-track the next sequel.

He acknowledged the love of fans around the world for the female superhero, and he referred to Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins as “real-life wonder women.”

He expressed his excitement about having this successful duo in action again to create another blockbuster.

The Executive Vice President of Warner Bros.’ Direct-to-Consumer division revealed that the film broke records in the realm of streaming film debuts. He predicted that impressive levels of viewership are expected to continue well after the opening weekend.

He expressed empathy for fans who are stuck at home during the holidays, and he said he was glad to bring some happiness to people during hard times.

Where film critics were concerned, the film received both positive and negative feedback.

There were some reviews that praised the overall quality of the movie, but some critics pointed out some issues with the way the movie portrayed people of Middle Eastern descent.

Some critics also pointed out flaws in the plot, but it seems that, Overall, the film is a success in the eyes of the audience and critics.
