Wandavision season 2

What’s next for Wandavision after a busy MCU Phase 4 slate?

One week ago Marvel Studios concluded its very first streaming show. This marked the very beginning of a new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With the title given to a hero that we have all come to love, is there a need for this show to continue in a second season?

Let’s take a look at those threads Marvel has left us with its debut of WandaVision.

First, how about a recap?
There are spoilers after this point, do not continue if you have an intent to watch.

Wanda Maximoff, after coming back from Thanos’ attack on the world has found her life hindered.

With the loss of her love, Wanda has arguably endured more loss than any other member of the super team.

After becoming an orphan at a young age and the loss of her brother Wanda knows loss.

Now, with the absence of her partner, The Vision, Wanda is having a hard time with her new reality.

This is where Westview comes in.

The small town of Westview, New Jersey no longer exists.

Instead, the occupants of the town have been placed under Wanda’s influence. They are now actors within Wanda’s coping mechanism for a picture-perfect life.

To handle the loss that Wanda has endured she has, unknowingly even to her, bewitched an entire town.

They are now part of a sitcom, providing Wanda with the perfect life she has never had the chance to have.

In the end, we end up finding out that the moniker that Wanda has been meant to have all along is none other than The Scarlet Witch.

She is more powerful than anyone could have anticipated (someone we did see in Endgame). Not only this, but her powers are something she has always had. She has neglected to accept them.

Does WandaVision leave room for a second season?

Some may argue that a second season is possible. There are loose ends that weren’t tied up.

Where is Vision? Who is the man with Quicksilver’s face? What happened to the twins? Is SWORD just as corrupt as S.H.I.E.L.D? What about Monica’s parents?

When it comes to Marvel, there is a spiderweb that will now happen. These loose ends will begin to show up in other shows and films. This means that we don’t necessarily need a second season of Wandavision.

We already know that Wanda will appear in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

Will this have to do with the search for her sons? There is a great possibility that it will, considering that a member of their team is part of the film.

There are many parts of WandaVision that will continue on through the MCU. The question is, do they want to continue along the thread in just WandaVision?

Or will they make the conscious decision to thread it through their other projects? With so many other works in the pipeline, this could go many different ways.

Guess it is now a waiting game to see what Disney and Marvel Studios decides to do with the future of The Scarlet Witch.

Here’s to hoping that whatever it is, it lives up to everything that WandaVision has brought us. With so many options, the stories (like comics themselves) really are never-ending.
