Twitch announced a new feature designed to help creator collaborate and further the development of the Twitch Community.
The new feature is called Squad Streams, it will let up to four Twitch streamers go live simultaneously on one screen. This feature allows viewers to get more angles of the action, a way to support more of their favorite streamers, and the ability to chat with several great communities.
What is Squad Streams?
Squad Streams makes it easier for viewers to watch the action from four different angles along with giving bigger channels the opportunity not just to host smaller creators, but to share their screen with the audience.
Twitch says the focus is to let “streamers actively team up with other creators to benefit everyone in a channel,” according to Hubert Thieblot, Twitch’s vice president of creator experience.
The feature is going to be the most useful to the mainstream channels on Twitch, for users that watch team-based battle royale games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, PUBG and League of Legends.
Twitch wants to help boost smaller creators with more niche interests. It will be some time for Squad Stream to roll out to those types of creators.
