Spotify’s latest integration with Snapchat allows listeners to share whatever they are listening to straight to the social media app in the form of a snap. As long as Snapchat is installed on the same device you’re using Spotify on, you’ll now see it appear in Spotify’s sharing menu.
This is a long-time feature on Instagram so Snapchat is little behind when it comes to integration with music streaming platforms.
When users share with Snapchat, the app will automatically create a snap that includes song info and album art for the currently playing track. This can then be sent to your individual Snapchat friends or to your story. Additionally, listeners can also share individual songs, albums, playlists, or podcasts.
If you are on the receiving end of the Spotify snap, simply swipe up to start listening to whatever song was just sent your way.
Direct sharing has become increasingly popular thanks to Instagram. It makes total sense, Instagramers love sharing selected details about their lives, now they can add a soundtrack to accompany the visuals!
