new iphone 12

Apple has released several new products in the second announcement in one month.

This major announcement was primarily centered around the new iPhone 12.

However, the company did unveil a number of other significant products.

In addition to the iPhone, Apple released new HomePod speakers, charging devices, headphones and more.

The pandemic certainly impacted the release date here and below is a look at what was announced on Tuesday.

Introducing the iPhone 12

At the center of the announcement was the new iPhone 12 model which comes in four different varieties.

The most notable new feature for these phones is they have 5G capabilities.

The faster technology has yet to fully gain traction and this should be a key period in its development.

The phone has a slightly altered shape than before as it has flat edges and square corners.

This resembles some of the older iPhone models like the iPhone 4 and 5.

In addition, the phones include an OLED display and a screen that has a Ceramic Shield, which is supposedly four times less likely to crack than previous models.

The new iPhone 12 phones also have a state of the art A14 Bionic chip and promise to be excellent for hardcore gamers. This is the same chip found in the iPad Air models that were just announced last month.

The base iPhone 12 will run $799 and feature a 6.1 inch screen.

It also has 2 cameras that are high quality and the new phones will also be available in red, green, blue, black, and white. Preorders begin on Friday, October 16th but the phone will begin shipping on October 23rd.

Apple is also releasing the iPhone 12 Mini, which is 5.4 inches and is for those who want a smaller and more sleek device.

Apple has made phones smaller than this before, but this latest model will have the same kind of advanced capability as the base model.

It will cost $699 and won’t be available until a bit later with preorders opening up on November 6th and initial shipping going out on November 13th.

Finally, Apple released two more variations of the iPhone 12. The iPhone 12 Pro has a 6.1 inch screen and is $999.

There is also the iPhone Pro Max to round out the choices, and this phone has a large screen at 6.7 inches and will cost $1,099.

Both of these models have superior cameras that make use of LIDAR sensors that can make use of augmented reality. The iPhone 12 Pro ships on October 23rd with the iPhone Pro Max coming on November 13th.

HomePod Mini

Apple also released a new version of its speakers called the HomePod Mini.

This is a smaller model than the original HomePod initially released in 2018.

The HomePod Mini has mesh covering and will have touch-enabled functionality. The display is also colorful and the new speakers are very affordable coming in at just $99.

Much like the Amazon Echo that was just unveiled, the shape of the new speaker is a sphere.

The HomePod Mini is obviously designed to work well with other Apple products like the Watch and the iPhone. The new speaker will arrive on November 6th.

Beats Flex

The Beats Flex is another audio-related device released in tandem with the new iPhone models.

These headphones will have a 12-hour battery life, come equipped with Bluetooth, and cost just $50.

The Beats Flex can be charged with a USB-C port and there will also be an “Audio Sharing” feature that allows iPhone users the ability to have a way to listen to music with a friend at the same time.

Beats Flex will also work with Android devices in addition to Apple ones, and the low cost should encourage those who are looking for decent quality headphones to buy them along with the new phone and speaker system.

MagSafe Charging

A new and improved MagSafe charger will also be important as Apple moves to its next iPhone model.

The company maintained on Tuesday that the new chargers will have better sensors to make charging easier while there will be more functionality while a user is charging their phone.

One thing to note is that Apple is only including a new USB-C-Lightning cable with the phones and not a full battery.
