The 2019 NBA Draft is officially over, with number one pick Zion Williamson heading to the New Orlean Pelicans and fellow teammate RJ Barrett now a New York Knick.
As the offseason continues to piece together the outline for next season, the Las Vegas Summer League will give our rookies their first taste of NBA basketball.
Blue Devils Collide in Vegas
To kick off summer league, a July 5 matchup between the New Orleans Pelicans and New York Knicks, will pit former Duke teammates Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett against one another.
During their season at Duke, Williamson and Barrett were dominant! Both Blue Devils averaged 22.6 points per game which dictates to how talented they will perform at the NBA level.
Zion heads down to NOLA
Zion will play alongside the likes of Jrue Holiday, Lonzo Ball, and Brandon Ingram this season following the franchise’s trade of Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers.
RJ Barrett to lead in the Big Apple
RJ Barrett will be one the few focal points on New York’s roster after an atrocious 2018-19 season. The Knicks have big plans for the rest of the offseason, being that they have the cap space to sign two free agents to max contracts.Â
