where streams the office

One of the greatest things about Netflix is that they have all seasons of The Office available to play in an endless hilarious loop. Well, all that is over!

The Office will stream exclusively on NBCUniversal’s upcoming streaming service starting in 2021. Netflix’s current deal with NBCUniversal ends in 2020. NBCUniversal will now have the rights to stream its own show exclusively.

NBCUniversal is currently hanging out in a good position as numerous companies are starting the launch their own streaming services.

We have to note that The Office is considered the most popular shows currently streaming on Netflix. In 2018, 52 billion minutes of the hit show was watched!

NBCUniversal’s direct-to-consumer Chairman, Bonnie Hammer called the show a “staple of pop-culture and is a rare gem whose relevance continues to grow at a time when fans have more entertainment choices than ever before.” – via press release

NBC has been planning this for some time now, executives have spoken about bringing The Office exclusively to its streaming service in the past. The Office gives NBCUniversal a nudge to help it during the streaming wars that is set to ramp up.

Disney has been not so slowly pulling content away from Netflix over the last year. Netflix then countered with increasing the amount of original content they produce.

The Office is just another casualty in the battle over streaming. The one clear loser as of now is the consumer!
