Warner Bros has finally revealed its expansive cast for the movie “The Flash.” From a new Supergirl to the grand return of Michael Keaton’s Batman, the movie brings along lots of excitement.

The Flash was one of the most popular characters in the Justice League movies. However, according to the newest trailer, publicized on Sunday’s Superbowl, the scarlet speedster might be overshadowed by a new hero.

This time, the movie might feature not one, but two Batman stars. The movie will be available in the theater from June 16th.

The trailer opens with a conversation between Michael Keaton’s Batman and Barry Allen (Ezra Miller’s Flash).

Michael seems to be playing an older version of 1989-1992 Batman. He wants to understand why Barry Miller couldn’t just leave for another universe and timeline but insists on staying and completing the battle. Ezra Miller’s Flash insists that that was the world where his mom lived, and leaving meant losing her, something he isn’t willing to do.

A New Barry Allen?

Eventually, Barry Allen meets his other version with conveniently longer hair to help us differentiate between them. He is visiting Bruce Wayne’s mansion while considering going back in time and working to fix what he destroyed: Everything.

The trailer also shows Michael Shannon’s General Zod getting ready for battle. We all know that Superman eliminated the Kryptonian in Man of Steel (2013). It is likely that Barry will come back at this time. According to the trailer, their timeline meddling had eliminated Superman and other metahumans (super-powered people) on Earth.

Consequently, the planet was left weak and vulnerable to alien attacks. Keaton’s character then makes the ultimate reveal that he is Batman in the trailer. He appears excited to be there, even swooping down on the enemies dressed in an incredible Caped Crusader combat.

The footage presented on a shorter Superbowl TV spot is quite different. It features Keaton’s incredible collection of Batsuits, implying that he has a great career as a crime fighter.

New Faces on the Scene

The trailer also introduces us to some new faces, including Superman’s cousin: a brand-new Supergirl, played by Sasha Calle. We are unsure whether she will be in the new Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow movie as The Flash will alter the DC movie’s continuity. However, she will likely be there.

Ezra Miller will play DC’s speedy superhero for the fourth time in The Flash after appearing in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016. Ezra has also been in the 2014 solo movie.

However, the actor has been through numerous troubles, including several arrests. This has raised questions about his ultimate cinematic feature. Ron Livingston plays Barry’s dad, while Maribel Verdu portrays his mom, Nora.

Andy Muschietti is the director of Flash and has said the movie was influenced by the Flashpoint comic that featured different timelines, allowing the movie to visit alternate versions of the characters as well.

This way, Affleck’s newest Batman can join Keaton again in the rubber Batsuit. It is still unclear whether George Clooney’s, Robert Pattinson’s, Val Kilmer’s or Christian Bale’s takes on the character will appear. However, anything is possible, and we are ready.
