Are you as excited as we are for the next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? If so, you’re probably wondering when the next movies and TV shows will be released.

Here are some release dates and a little bit of info about the upcoming MCU projects that will soon hit theaters and Disney plus!

Upcoming MCU Movies

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

After the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman, the plans for the Black Panther sequel had to be changed. Although details are scarce, the film is said to be a touching tribute to the late star.

The only things we know for certain are that the action-packed sequel will not recast Boseman’s character T’Challah and the mantle of Black Panther will belong to another.

The film will be released on November 11th, 2022

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the third film in the Ant-Man series and stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lily, and Michael Douglas.

Details are sparse at this time, but it is believed to be a direct continuation of Ant-Man and the Wasp, which ended with Michelle Pfeifer’s MCU debut as the long-lost and presumed-dead wife of Douglas’ character, Hank Pim.

It will be released on February 22nd, 2023.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

The Guardians of the Galaxy (without Thor, sadly) are back next year with another exciting adventure. Chris Pratt as Peter Quill works to unite the Guardians and win the heart (again) of 2014 Gamora, who is now serving as the leader of the Ravagers.

The film opens on May 5th, 2023.

The Marvels

The Marvels is the next entry in the Captain Marvel series starring beloved Hollywood icon Brie Larson. It also introduces Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, while Teyonah Parris continues her role from Wandavision as Monica Rambeau.

The Marvels will debut in theatres on July 28th, 2023.

Captain America: New World Order

This will be the first Captain America movie since Steve Rogers stepped down from the title role and gave the helm over to the Avenger formerly known as The Falcon.

Not much is known about the film at this time, except that it will be in theatres on May 3, 2024.

Deadpool 3

Deadpool 3 is the third movie starring Ryan Reynolds as the titular antihero (not counting his appearance in Wolverine: Origins where his mouth is sewn shut and the character dies).

Despite the move to the MCU, producers have insisted that the character will remain the same foul-mouthed, wisecracking character that audiences loved in the first two films. Hugh Jackman also reprises his iconic role as Wolverine.

Fantastic Four

Although The Office’s John Krasinski appeared as Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, it is unknown if he will reprise the role in this film. All that is known is the title and the fact that it will feature the titular foursome.

Oh, and the fact that it is scheduled to be released on February 14th, 2025.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars

Much like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, these two will likely be a two-part film series that wraps up phase six of the MCU. Nothing major is known of the two titles, other than that the name of the first film implies that Kang, played by Johnathan Majors, will likely be a major role.

The Kang Dynasty will release on May 2nd, 2025 and Secret Wars nearly a year later on May 1st, 2026.

Upcoming MCU Disney+ Productions

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

Hopefully not inspired by the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, about which George Lucas once famously said that if he had the time, ability, and a sledgehammer, he would destroy every bootlegged copy!

The special will release in December 2022.

Secret Invasion

Do you remember the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, when it was revealed that Nick Fury had been replaced by a Krull duplicate? Secret Invasion is a continuation of that story, as it details the decades-long Krull incursions on Earth.

Also starring Martin Freeman and Ben Mendelsohn, Secret Invasion will air in the spring of 2023.

Loki

loki disney plus

The second season of Loki continues the adventures of Tom Hiddleston’s character in various parts of the multiverse. The entire cast (excluding any who may or may not have died – no spoilers!) will be returning.

Season two of Loki will air in the Spring of 2023.

Echo

Echo is a spinoff of the Hawkeye Disney Plus series that aired beginning last year, focused on a deaf martial artist played by Alaqua Cox. She will be joined by MCU newcomer Devery Jacobs, as well as Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox reprising their roles of Kingpin and Daredevil, respectively, from the Hawkeye series.

Echo will air in the Summer of 2023.

X-Men ’97

X-Men ’97 will be a continuation of the classic 1990s animated X-Men show. It will have the same art style, stories, and theme song as the original. Most importantly for fans, however, is the return of the original voice actors!

The show will air in the Fall of 2023.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is a sequel to WandaVision, with the title role being reprised by Kathryn Hahn in all of her meme-winking glory.

Not much is known about the show at this time, except that it air in the Winter of 2023 and into early 2024.

Daredevil: Born Again

Other than the fact that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are set for an 18-episode run as Daredevil and Kingpin, not much is known about this series.

It will begin to air in the Spring of 2024.
