NFL free agency

The 2020 NFL free agency and offseason could be one of the most fascinating we have seen in years.

The NFL is always a wild business, but the fact is the likes of Tom Brady, Cam Newton, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees, Melvin Gordon, and more could all potentially change teams if the football gods allow.

Tom Brady Goes West

Will Tom Brady leave the New England Patriots at this stage in his career? It feels impossible to think that Brady would switch teams.

Nobody truly knows whats going on in Brady’s head other than the fact that he’s going to hit free agency and he’s looking for more offensive weapons.

The Raiders not only have a talented young core, but we know they’d be willing to spend around Brady.

Then there are the 49ers, a team that was a quarter away from winning the Superbowl.

The Niners offer one of the best offensive coaches in football in Kyle Shanahan, a young roster loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, the best tight end in football, and a lot of motivation to get over the top.

Also, consider that Brady is a Cali native who grew up rooting for the 49ers during the franchises legendary runs!

Jimmy Garoppolo Heads to Indy

If Tom Brady heads to San Fran, what about Jimmy Garoppolo?

Jimmy G can be acquired via trade and he would cost an acquiring team just around $23.8 million against the salary cap in 2020 with very reasonable cap hits over the next three years.

The Colts seem to be a good fit. They have one year left on Jacoby Brissett’s deal, and they might view a player like Garoppolo not only as an upgrade over the longer term, they could also see him as a better fit for Frank Reich’s offense.

Stefon Diggs Moves On From The Vikings

Stefon Diggs’ recent tweets have been hinting towards a breakup in Minnesota. There were Diggs trade rumors last season before they went on a run to the playoffs, and it wouldn’t be a shock for those to pop back up.

There are tons of teams that can use an offensive talent like Diggs so let’s hang back and see what happens.

Cam Newton To Go To The Windy City Or Sin City

Cam Newton is probably the biggest QB that could hit the market this offseason with the exception of Tom Brady.

The Panthers aren’t likely to get a great return for Newton, who has been battling injuries the past couple of years. Nonetheless, Newton is a 30-year-old MVP out to prove the doubters wrong.

Oakland Raiders coach Jon Gruden would see an opportunity here to keep up with the scoring dominant Kansas City by adding one of the biggest difference-makers in the NFL on offense and build his playing calling around him.

Then there is the Chicago Bears, Newton would be an immediate upgrade compared to Mitch Trubisky and could potentially return the Bears to contender status.

Philip Rivers Jolts To Tampa

We already know that Rivers won’t be back with the Chargers, but it’s going to be really, really weird to see him suit up for another NFL team.

While there will be a few teams on the market for an experienced QB like Rivers, we’re going to have him landing in Tampa Bay.

Rivers could easily replace Jameis Winston with the Bucs and the Bucs would then draft someone like Jacob Eason or Jordan Love to be his understudy for a year or so.

Dak Prescott Hit With The Franchise Tag

Prescott was willing to bet on himself in 2019 and he will probably do it again. With Patrick Mahomes set to make 35-40 million annually, Dak will lay it all on the field for the 2021 season payday.

The Browns Will Hold Onto Odell Beckham Jr.

OBJ had a very lackluster first season in Cleveland. There have been tons of rumors of Odell telling other players he wanted out.

Beckham will probably stick around for another season. But if the Browns don’t start moving in an upward trajectory then this conversation will definitely come back up

Le’Veon Bell Jets Out Of New York

The Le’Veon Bell trial run in New York didn’t quite work out. Even during the regular season trade rumors were swirling. The Jets will potentially move on from Bell.

While Bell comes with a hefty price tag, he’s still very talented and there will surely be interested in teams out there.
