Craft breweries across the United States are stepping up during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many are donating all or a portion of their proceeds to food banks, producing hand sanitizer, and starting relief funds for their communities. 

Want to support the cause and try excellent craft beer in the process? Check out these ten craft beers supporting front-line workers during the pandemic. 

10. All Together IPA

All Together is a collaboration between 700 craft breweries with proceeds benefiting local groups. The third version of this four-hop, 6.5% ABV IPA will benefit Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation. Other variations of the All Together IPA are still available across the country. 

9. Somebody to Lean On

Another IPA from Baltimore’s Union Craft Brewing is 8.5% ABV and tastes of pineapple and mango. All proceeds of this Bill Withers-inspired IPA benefit the Baltimore Restaurant Relief Fund, supporting hospitality workers. It’s local only, but Union Craft Brewing does offer curbside pickup. 

8. Sunshine Tomorrow

Sunshine Tomorrow is a hoppy ale from Chicago brewery, Goose Island. All profits from sales of Sunshine Tomorrow will benefit the #ChicagoCOVIDFund. Brewers at Goose Island released the ale along with a video of themselves working alongside front-line workers during the pandemic. 

7. You Are Not Alone

Reuben’s Brews is releasing You Are Not Alone for Seattle to enjoy. It’s an amber 8.5% IPA and is available for pickup or delivery all across Washington state. Reuben’s Brews say this IPA has a velvety mouthfeel and extra creaminess. 100% of the profits benefit Big Table, supporting hospitality workers who’ve lost their jobs in the pandemic. 

6. AleSmith for Hope

AleSmith Brewing created a non-profit organization to go along with its new AleSmith for Hope brew. This hazy IPA features light notes of pineapple and citrus and will be available in July. All sales of AleSmith for Hope will raise money for Anvil of Hope – a non-profit focused on low-income families. 

5. Loved By The Sun

Virginia’s Devils Backbone Brewing released Loved By The Sun during Melanoma Awareness Month. They’re partnering with the Melanoma Research Foundation to donate $1 for every mile walked during the Miles for Melanoma virtual race. The peach-mango beer arrives in sun-activated color-changing cans for skin health awareness.

4. Colorado Strong Pale Ale

The Colorado Strong Fund is a collaboration between the Colorado Brewers Guild and the Left Hand Brewing Foundation. The Colorado Strong Pale Ale is made from local ingredients produced by partnering Colorado breweries. 

20% of all sales will benefit the Colorado Strong Fund to support healthcare, hospitality, and service industry workers impacted by COVID-19. 

3. Spring Landscape Helles Bock

Industrial Arts Brewing in New York uses Hudson Valley ingredients for its latest entry into its Landscape Lager series. This helles bock features notes of mint and yeasty bread. 100% of the beer’s profits will be donated to the Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation, benefiting hospitality workers.

2. Love Street

Karbach Brewing in Texas is donating a $1 for every case of its Love Street sold in restaurants and bars. All those proceeds go to the Southern Smoke Foundation, a non-profit from Houston chef Chris Shepherd. 

Later this year, Karbach Brewing will release a new pilsner in another partnership with Shepherd. It will also benefit Southern Smoke, with Karbach Brewing hoping to raise $100,000 through sales of both brews. 

1. Good Love

Akademia Brewing in Athens, Georgia, is releasing Good Love – a 4.8% Berliner Weiss. The sour beer will be available for curbside pickup and contains notes of Georgia peach. Purchases help fund Bottleshare, a non-profit helping to fund the craft beverage industry.
