marshawn lynch

Marshawn Lynch is one of the biggest characters the NFL has ever seen both on and off the field.

His incredible runs and hilarious personality have led him to be one of the most entertaining players to watch in sports.

Here’s a look at the most memorable moments in Lynch’s career on and off the field.

The Beast Quake

Lynch’s most memorable run came in the 2010 NFC Wild Card game against the Saints. Few runs can rival the “Beast Quake” as Lynch barrelled 67 yards from scrimmage after breaking 9 tackles to score.

The Saints had so many chances to tackle Lynch and he would just not go down on this incredible run.

The Beast Quake helped propel the underdog Seahawks to victory over the defending Super Bowl champion Saints.

The noise level after Lynch’s run is also significant in that it registered so loudly that it registered on a nearby seismograph, hence the name Beast Quake.

Beast Quake 2.0

Another major appearance of Lynch’s “Beast Mode” would occur in 2014 against the Arizona Cardinals, though this time the run was on the road.

In another incredible display of tenacity and grit, Lynch scampered a career high 79 years to the end zone.

This run was not nearly as consequential in the result of the game as the first Beast Quake since the Seahawks easily won 35-6. It also was on the road so it wasn’t nearly as loud.

However, this run was nearly as good as the first, though it is often overshadowed for those reasons.

Media Day Appearance

Lynch made a memorable appearance during media day before Super Bowl XLIX in 2015.

He has been known to be very reluctant to talk to the media and has had several fines for not doing so.

Only a few sportscasters have been able to get more than a “Yes” out of Lynch.

The Super Bowl is well known for its huge build up before the game and Lynch’s five minute mandatory appearance at Super Bowl XLIX included him saying simply, “I’m just here so I won’t get fined” and then again the next day “You know why I’m here”.

Lighting a Blunt with Al Davis’ Eternal Flame

During another strange Lynch moment, the star running back was caught on camera trying to light a blunt by using the eternal flame of former owner Al Davis at what was the final Raiders game in Oakland.

Lynch made light of the situation, “I think it was only right to send the Raiders off in a real Oakland way.”

Joyriding Around in an Injury Cart

Lynch also jumped into an injury car after scoring a touchdown to win an overtime game.

The enigmatic running back then swerved across the field in celebration of the walk-off victory.

This was during Lynch’s college tenure playing for the California Golden Bears in October 2006.
