Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine the powerhouse music duo and founders of Beats by Dre have been struggling to elevate the brand since selling to Apple in 2014.

Apple seemed to have stalled the development for new Beats by Dre products, only allowing minor updates and alternative colorways.

The new Powerbeats offer extreme comfort and are steady in the most engaging of workouts. The audio is superb, offering rich sound and strong bass. The best advantage when compared to the Powerbeats 3 is the resistance to water/sweat, which was a huge issue with the older Powerbeats models.

These headphones are not perfect by any means. It’s great that the carry case offers tons of extra battery life, but it is quadruple the size of an AirPod case. They also aren’t very discreet, especially when compared to almost invisible Samsung’s Galaxy Buds. The Powerbeats are not as easy to slide in and out of the ears like AirPods which are almost made for the office and work environments.

The advantageous difference from the AirPods, though, is that the Powerbeats Pro have various sizes of in-ear tips. So for those who find the AirPods fall out or don’t fit correctly, the new Powerbeats may be the wireless earphones you been waiting for.

When putting these headphones to the fitness test, they more than succeed. They are insanely stable no matter the workout and THEY ARE FULLY WATER RESISTANT, which cannot be sade for the case so be sure to let them dry off before charging them back up.

The mechanics have also improved for the latest Powerbeats. There’s a symmetrical arrangement on each bud: The circular “b” logo is the control for music playback and answering or rejecting calls, and there’s a small volume rocker above that. With the new Apple H1 chip on board, you also get the option to have Siri always listening for your voice commands.

To conclude, the Powerbeats Pro is the best Beats product to be released in a long time. They raise the bar for what can be expected of fitness and true wireless earphones, delivering amazing noise isolation sound quality and battery endurance.
