The new gaming headset will feature 7.1 virtual surround sound

HyperX is following up its acclaimed Cloud Alpha gaming headset with the Cloud Alpha S. The premier headset will add 7.1 virtual surround sound which is controlled through a wired audio box, similar to other HyperX headsets. The control box also comes with individual volume controls to manipulate chat and game audio.

This is not replacing the older models of the Alpha, but rather adding a new slightly higher price tier for those users that want more features like adjustable bass sliders and virtual surround.

The new gaming headsets have the same comfortable design in which the company has been praised for in the past. HyperX will also use the same audio hardware as the previous model but has been slightly tuned for better sound. A very useful feature is the new bass slider on the rear to make quick adjustments, that along with the other upgrades totally warrants the minor price increase to an already amazing headset.

HyperX’s Cloud Alpha S will be available in September for $129.99
