‘Fortnite’ will be on next-gen consoles when launched

Epic Games recently released a look into the Unreal Engine 5 demo for the highly anticipated Playstation 5.

The demo was released on Wednesday, May 13th and it gives gamers a better idea of what the next version of Fortnite might look like. Epic Games calls this a “quantum leap” in the new release’s overall graphics.

The PS5 is set to be released later this year and this demo runs in real-time on it. Representatives of the company are very proud of their progress and have been working on this recent version for some time.

The Unreal Engine 5 demo was built by using a development kit for the new PS5 hardware. The demo features a highly realistic lighting scheme and also pays great attention to details.

Representatives have also maintained that it could be more than a year after the PS5 is launched that the game will actually have the level of fidelity found in the demo version.

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney also mentioned that this engine should be very scalable with next-gen gaming and smartphones specifically in mind.

The expected launch date with full support features for the Unreal Engine 5 is supposed to be in late 2021. Not many details have come out about the actual PS5 besides the use of the DualSense controller, though representatives have claimed the PS5 is a “great system”.

Epic Games also announced that the next version of Fortnite will be available upon the launch of both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. This means that Fortnite will initially be using the Unreal Engine 4 and be migrated to the Unreal Engine 5 upon its completion in the middle of 2021.

Of course, the Fortnite franchise is the biggest success in the gaming business today.

The fact that it will be available on the best hardware as soon as it comes out should be no surprise. The company also said that the popular game will have improved performance and visuals upon its release.

Overall, this release is quite anticipated and many will definitely be keeping a close eye on it.
