Elon Musk was certainly an interesting choice to host Saturday Night Live this past weekend.
As expected, the tech genius mocked himself, his companies, and somewhat predictably got his love interest, Grimes, involved. Here’s a quick look at some of the sketches throughout the night.
Musk’s monologue
Musk immediately poked fun at himself making fun of his tone and also outing himself as having Asperger’s Syndrome. The monologue continued with jokes about Musk’s various business endeavors, O.J. Simpson, and an appearance from his mother, who made the night’s first mention of Dogecoin.
“Wario”
This one is for Super Mario fans and features a guest appearance from Grimes as Princess Peach. Musk plays the evil Wario from the games while Waluigi and Andrew Cuomo are also part of the gag.
“Chad on Mars”
Miley Cyrus (the actual musical guest for the night) makes a cameo in another amusing skit with Pete Davidson’s “Chad” character. Musk plays himself in sending Chad on a dangerous SpaceX mission to Mars.
“Cowboy Standoff”
Musk plays a cowboy in a skit that includes mentions of a few items pertaining to him such as tunnels, masks, self-driving horses, and the concept of cryptocurrency.
“Weekend Update”
Musk appears as Lloyd Ostertag, a cryptocurrency expert to explain what Dogecoin is.
“Post-Quarantine Conversation”
Musk appears as a house guest at a part after the pandemic struggling to have a productive conversation.
“Murdur Durdur”
Musk makes a very brief appearance as a priest in this parody of a local murder drama.
“Gen Z Hospital”
Musk plays a doctor in a skit that pokes heavy fun at Gen Z’s.
“Ooli Show”
Finally, Musk plays an Icelandic TV show producer in a fairly goofy skit.
