Zoom Meeting

One of the biggest companies to actually see a boost in business because of the coronavirus pandemic has been video conferencing platform Zoom.

The company has been hard at work trying to keep up with the increased demand for its software, and it has recently added a few new features for its growing userbase.

Zoom just added a way to host paid events as well as launching new services for third-party apps.

First off, Zoom has created a new marketplace called OnZoom that is a way for users to host virtual events and monetize them.

OnZoom will give users a chance to easily find virtual events they might be interested in ranging across a number of topics.

This also gives those hosting an event the ability to monetize it by easily making tickets available. The host can also promote the event and easily schedule it for anyone interested.

Anyone who organizes one of these events will have to have a paid account on Zoom, though anyone who is interested will be able to watch the event without a paid account.

Those hosts who pay for an account will have the ability to host up to 1,000 attendees or however many they pay to have present.

These new features are available to users in the United States in a beta stage but will be available to everyone in 2021.

Payments can be processed via PayPal or by credit card as well while users can also purchase access to these events as a gift to others.

The company has also moved to give other businesses better ways to provide direct access to their products during video calls made on the platform.

Users on a Zoom call can now access useful business tools like Dropbox or Asana without having to switch windows, making conference calls even more convenient. Zoom is calling this integration its “Zapps” feature.

The video platform already has more than 35 companies that it is working with to help bring third party apps to the platform across a wide range of business-related activities.

Zoom also looks to add new features that also cater to those in school doing remote learning over its platform.

These are both certainly welcome new features for a rapidly growing company that should only continue to explode as technology improves and video conferencing becomes more mainstream.

Adding features for both work and fun seems like a smart move in 2020.
