Tempo has released a home gym that utilizes smart technology to capture if you are doing exercises in an appropriate form.

The company believes that form is more essential than the number of reps or even the amount of weight being used. It is able to track your form when working out via computer vision technologies.

Smart fitness equipment is becoming more and more popular. Many individuals are calling the rapid popularity of smart fitness equipment the ‘Peloton Boom’.

Peloton was the first company to utilize smart fitness equipment on a worldwide spectrum.

There is a variety of exercise and fitness equipment that is being transformed via the usage of smart technologies.

Types include bike machines, treadmills, rowing machines, weight training equipment, and even punching bags. All of which have already been created and have accommodating fitness classes that users watch while exercising.

While most of the current smart fitness equipment features fitness classes, none of the items are able to tell you if you were doing the exercise correctly, however.

Tempo is the first brand of its kind to enter the realm of ensuring you are performing exercises and fitness routines correctly.

Tempo utilizes Microsoft’s Azure Kinect built-in technologies to ensure you are in proper form when working out and will detail each specific exercise for you. Tempo is shaped like a wardrobe with a large touchscreen in the center. The touchscreen is HD and forty-two inches in size.

On Tempo’s touchscreen, there are many features and uses. Fitness classes that you follow along with are offered in 4K.

There are various classes ranging from weight training, HIIT and mobility.

There are storage racks behind and below the screen to hold barbells, weighted plates, a foam roller, a wrist-worn heart rate monitor, and a workout mat that all come as part of the starter kit.

Tempo provides barbells, plates, a foam roller, a heart rate monitor and a workout mat with purchase.

In order to track your form to ensure you are exercising correctly, Tempo has a built-in camera and microphone. It uses solely the Azure Kinect camera to watch the user’s form and employs dots to plot the user’s movements, locating their muscles and joints to ensure each lift, squat, and slide is done properly. These items are not always on and have to be manually activated.

The camera is used to monitor form via dots over muscles and joints and keeping your face anonymous. It will see where your muscles and joints move during each exercise to help you in giving advice for the next time you perform the exercise.

Tempo will tell you right away if your form is wrong on a certain exercise.

As soon as you perform the exercise correctly, you are able to move on to the next exercise.

At the end of the routine, you will receive more feedback about more changes that may have needed to be made.

There are tutorials provided that specifically go over form for each exercise.

Tempo’s fitness classes offered are done live with the trainers! Everything will be personalized to you and your needs because of the real-time fitness experience. Tempo’s classes will never be repetitive or monotonous either due to live coaching and impressiveness.

Tempo is not focused on sets and reps as many other exercise routines are focused on. Tempo wants the user to focus on ensuring they are in the correct form to get the most usage out of certain exercises.

There will still be suggestions for weights and reps to ensure you are working on muscle strength and definition.

When first signing up with your Tempo account, you will take a strength test. It is not based on how strong you are, necessarily, though.

The strength test is based upon how well you do each exercise and how many times you do the exercise correctly in an allotted time frame. Computer vision will keep track of this.

Tempo initially costs almost two thousand dollars at $1995. It does also require a subscription service in order to keep attending the fitness classes and receive the computer vision technology for a monthly fee of $39. Installation and shipment charges may also be included.

Included with your Tempo class is one live class per day, but the library is constantly added to. Any class you want to attend on any day can be added to a calendar within Tempo.

The purchase of the equipment comes with weights and a barbell that add up to one hundred pounds in total. The barbell is able to hold other weights that you may purchase for yourself as well.
