A global pandemic changed 2020 for billions of people all around the world.

Many people chose or were forced to stay at home, limiting how much they could go out and entertain themselves.

Some forms of entertainment that could be enjoyed at home were still affected such as sporting leagues being canceled and movie releases being delayed indefinitely.

However, the video game industry is one industry that has been very successful even during the pandemic due to landmark titles like Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and The Last of Us: Part II.

While we’re all going to still have to manage our way through the COVID-19 pandemic, you’ll be able to enjoy an entirely new slate of videogames in 2021.

Back 4 Blood

Built by the original developers of the Left 4 Dead series, Back 4 Blood takes the fast-paced survival gameplay many loved a decade ago and updates it for a new generation. Players start by choosing 1 of 4 different survivors to play with their friends.

From there, you can go through campaigns and unlock different materials through the progression system so you can change up how you play Back 4 Blood.

Back 4 Blood will be available on Xbox Series X, Playstation 5, and PC in June 2021.

Halo: Infinite

As the sixth main entry in the Halo series, Halo: Infinite lets players don the role of Master Chief again in a brand-new world.

Players can explore an open world that has various missions and collectibles to get while avoiding and killing any threat that gets in their way.

As a bonus, the multiplayer for Halo: Infinite will be entirely free-to-play whether or not you purchased the single-player campaign or not.

Halo: Infinite is currently scheduled to come out at some point in 2021 for the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC.

Hogwarts Legacy

Gamers for a long time have been asking for a Harry Potter game after the success of the movie tie-in games in the early 2000s.

Warner Bros is helping deliver on this through Hogwarts Legacy, an RPG taking place in Hogwarts.

In this title, you’ll create your very own wizard as you learn magic and explore the grounds of Hogwarts during its early days.

Players can look forward to playing Hogwarts Legacy when it releases on PC, Xbox Series X, and Playstation 5 at some point in 2021.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

The original Breath of the Wild has been applauded by critics and gamers alike for the unique open-world gameplay that brings the genre and Zelda games forward.

In response to this success, Nintendo has been working on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, a direct follow-up to the original game that will have you explore the Zelda universe even further.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is expected to be released for the Nintendo Switch in 2021.

Nier Replicant Ver 1.22

Nier: Automata was undoubtedly one of the most appraised games of 2017 due to the gripping world and story presented by the famous game creator, Yoko Taro.

However, many people don’t know at all about the original Nier title or didn’t care about it all due to the low-budget presentation.

Nier Replicant Ver 1.22 is a remake of the original Nier that helps preserve the story and world-building of the original game through new visuals and gameplay to make it shine.

Nier Replicant Ver 1.22 is planned to release in April 2021 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.

Resident Evil: Village

Resident Evil fans have had a strong past couple of years through the launches of the Resident Evil 2 remake and the Resident Evil 3 remake.

However, many players have been wondering when Capcom would be taking the storyline of Resident Evil forward.

In 2021, players will get their wish when Resident Evil: Village comes out for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

In this game, you play as Ethan Winters as you find out more about your wife’s past and try to protect your child in a village that’s out to kill you.
