The 2020 Presidential Election Results Still Unclear

After a very contentious race for President between former Vice President Joe Biden and current President Donald J. Trump, America may have to wait a bit longer to find out who the winner is in 2020.

The two candidates remained deadlocked in a tight race that will come down to the key battleground states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia.

There is also uncertainty in a few other states that could play a pivotal role in the outcome, including Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina and Maine.

In a night where many Democrats thought they might be able to go home early in celebration, President Trump has held his own.

Many thought he might lose key states that have been longtime strongholds for conservatives and key states such as Texas, Florida, and even South Carolina, but he was able to fend off the Democratic candidate to preserve victory in those states.

As things stand, Biden has 224 electoral votes to Trump’s 213, but much will be determined over the course of the next few days.

The number of mail-in votes has reached all-time highs during this election cycle, and each of the battleground states has its own specific policies when it comes to counting their outstanding votes.

Both candidates gave brief speeches for their supporters after it appeared that neither candidate would reach the necessary 270 electoral votes before the end of the night.

However, their tones were quite different.

Biden focused on remaining patient, “We knew this was going to go long. We feel good about where we are. We really do. It ain’t over until every vote is counted until every ballot is counted.”

Trump, on the other hand, played on some of the concerns he’s had on the ballot counts over the past few months, “Millions and millions of people voted for us tonight, and a very sad group of people is trying to disenfranchise that group of people, and we won’t stand for it,” he said.

Trump also declared he would be willing to take a legal challenge to the Supreme Court.

This is another ripple to an already strange election in a strange year.

America will continue to keep a close eye on all of these ongoing stories as the days unfold.
