Some accessories worth purchasing for the PlayStation 5

Both the Sony PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series S and X are coming out shortly with the PS5 set for a November 12th release date.

We took a look at which accessories are worth getting for the Xbox releases, and now it is time to look at accessories for the PS5.

Below are the best accessories to really max out the potential of the new PlayStation.

DualSense Controller – $70

The first thing worth purchasing for the PS5 is a second DualSense controller. Each new console includes one of them with the purchase, and it seems pretty safe to say you’ll want to have at least one more to play games with a friend.

These DualSense controllers have a combination of black and white color schemes and feature adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and a microphone built-in.

These controllers are also able to connect wirelessly to any Android device as well as a PC if it supports Bluetooth. Gamers can also alternatively connect these controllers to a computer with a USB cable.

The old controller for the PS4 will also work on the new PS5, but will only work for games that are originally made for the PS4.

The new controller is just $10 more than the DualShock 4 model currently available for the PS4.

PS5 HD Camera – $60

For those who want to use the PS5’s video streaming capabilities, it would be a worthwhile investment to grab the PS5 HD Camera.

For $60, you’ll get a quality camera with dual 1080p lenses and is a capable follow-up to the PS4 camera.

This camera allows you to easily stream your footage directly from the console. This camera also lets you customize the background easily and has a built-in stand for easy placement with the console.

PS5 Media Remote – $30-$50

Of course, the PlayStation 5 is also a very capable media device and not simply just a gaming console.

Purchasing a PS5 Media Remote is another good idea and it will help you navigate the various screens in all of the apps you choose to use.

The remote has the usual things found on a television remote, including a pause, play, fast forward, rewind, volume, and directional keys to navigate.

The remote also has buttons that will take you directly to some of the most popular video streaming services. This remote can be purchased for approximately $30-$50.

Seagate Game Drive – $120

Last but not least as far as accessories worth purchasing for the PS5, getting a Seagate Game Drive is a good idea.

This drive is made specifically for games and will hold up to 4 TB of file space.

This extra storage space is definitely a great place to put some of the older games from the PS4 because it will not play the PS5 titles.

This is the best strategy for the time being, and the $120 price point is very reasonable for the vast amount of storage space you will be getting.

PlayStation Plus Year-Long Subscription – $29

Another important accessory worth picking up is not a physical product, but rather a year-long subscription to the PlayStation Plus.

In addition to a fairly solid catalog of new games for the new console, Sony will be releasing many of its most popular titles that are already present on the PS4.

These games are part of the PlayStation Plus Collection and are well worth the $29 price tag for access to a wide library of games alone.
