Windows is back and Microsoft is working on improving it

Tech giant Microsoft will be implementing new measures to its operating systems and essentially bringing back Windows to an extent.

The company says it will undergo a “sweeping visual rejuvenation of Windows” to showcase the return of the long-time operating system.

The evidence is in a job posting on behalf of the company, who are currently looking to hire for a position in software engineering within the Windows Core User Experiences area.

The post goes on to explain, “On this team, you’ll work with our key platform, Surface, and OEM partners to orchestrate and deliver a sweeping visual rejuvenation of Windows experiences to signal to our customers that Windows is BACK and ensure that Windows is considered the best user OS experience for customers.”

Later on, the company got rid of some of the references to the visual overhaul but not after the information was spotted by those looking for jobs over the past week.

There have already been a number of rumors about Microsoft’s restructuring of Windows 10 for some time, and this is the latest evidence that there will be big changes this year to the operating system.

This project is said to exist under the codename “Sun Valley” and was reported as early as this past October.

The Start menu, built-in apps, and File Explorer are among features that are set to be revamped in this project.

More updates will be centered around buttons, sliders, and controls that appear throughout the existing operating system.

In addition, the company is supposedly trying to create a better experience with tablets and tablet mode. This includes how the mouse and trackpad are used as well as interactions that are touch-based.

The tech company has been working on improving their user interface as of late and are pushing for these improvements to occur in Windows 10X.

About a year ago, Microsoft released some minor tweaks to their Start menu and new icons for Windows 10 is a sign of things to come.

The company has thus shown a newfound emphasis on improving Windows and has also seen a rise in its usage because of the pandemic.

The next few months to a year should certainly bring many of these necessary improvements and features to help make Windows more relevant than ever before.
