Hasbro Retro Tiger LCD

Hasbro was the company behind the ever-popular Tiger Electronic consoles in the 1990s. They were able to be taken everywhere and played anywhere as they were handheld.

These nostalgic handheld gaming devices are back and ready to make a major comeback.

Hasbro will release four versions of the Tiger Electronic handheld consoles. They will for the low price of $14.99, less than fifteen dollars.

This announcement brought much excitement when shared in preparation for the 2020 Toy Fair that is based in New York City.

Hasbro knows the classics that will appeal to the target audience it is trying to push towards. The four versions offered will be spin-offs of many original Tiger Electronic games, and they will be based on popular media that is out now.

The versions include a Sonic game called Sonic the Hedgehog 3, a Disney game called Disney’s The Little Mermaid, a Marvel game called Marvel’s X-Men Project X and a Transformers game called Transformers Generation 2.

The design of these games will also appeal to ‘nineties kids’ as it will be in line with the original Tiger Electronic handheld consoles.

There are exciting storylines that go along with each of the four models as well. Sonic has six levels in which Dr. Eggman will be ultimately defeated.

In the Little Mermaid game, the classic Disney villain Ursula will be present.

You have the opportunity to imagine that you are Optimus Prime defeating Starscream and his Decepticons in the Transformers game.

Finally, in the X-men game, there are five levels. You play as Cyclops to defeat the bosses across the levels.

Each of these games, as can be noted, relies on what players will already know and what the players will already be interested in to increase audience participation.

Hasbro is preparing to release these handheld consoles this year. They should be available for purchase in the fall, but the handheld consoles are available for preorder now.

Ensure that you stock up on AA batteries, as two are required to power up the consoles.
