Prominent cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase was hit with a site outage today and it happened to occur just as the prices of a number of digital coins fell. The site went offline and users were unable to buy or sell any of their cryptocurrency during this period.

Coinbase went on to tweet, “We’ve put a fix in place and are monitoring the results, however you shouldn’t run into any more trouble logging into Coinbase and Coinbase Pro.

We sincerely apologize for any trouble caused by this issue, and we thank you for your patience with us today.”

Obviously, the outage upset many traders since it occurred at a time that is often used to make purchases, as the price of the coins dipped. The biggest coin, Bitcoin, dipped below $40,000 while Ethereum decreased by more than double digits to less than $3,000.

Coinbase is now back up and fully functional.
