Fitbit Versa Lite review

The Versa lite is a great entry level smartwatch. Fitbit is also discontinuing the Zip, Flex 2, Alta, and Alta HR

Fitbit has taken a new lease of life after the success of the Versa, which helped the company grow its smartwatch revenue by 437 percent less than a year after the device was announced.

The company has decided to double down on Versa by offering more affordable options. They will offer diluted versions of the Versa and the Ace that are up to $40 cheaper than their originals.

The Versa Lite nails it with its affordable price tag and cool features

The new Versa Lite will start at $160 and comes in additional vibrant colors like purple and blue. Despite the name, it’s not physically any smaller or thinner than the predecessor. Here some of the featured that will stripped away: Wi-Fi, NFC, music playback, or swim laps/floor climb counts. Fitbit hopes this version targets those who are more “price-conscious” or don’t need the full fitness functionalities like swim tracking.

The announcement today also brings several more lower-cost trackers: the Inspire and the Inspire HR. These new smartwatch lines will replace the Alta. The updated watch has a touchscreen instead of tap and offers a clip mode that lets you wear the device on your clothes instead of your wrist. Fitbit will also discontinue the Zip, the pebble-shaped pedometer, and the screenless Flex 2.

The Fitbit Versa LiteInspire, and Inspire HR are available for preorder today at $160, $70, and $100, respectively, and they’ll ship sometime this month. The Ace 2 comes out later this summer.
