juul staff cut

Mysterious and controversial vaping illnesses have Juul on the defensive. With a potential ban on flavored e-cigarettes, The San Fran startup is anticipating a slowdown from the onslaught of bad vaping press.

Juul is taking a thorough look at their company finances along with all employed staff, the company’s top priority is to remain solvent through a potential downturn.

The Wallstreet Journal states Juul is looking to scale back its hiring and eliminate some jobs. WSJ company sources said that Juul asked managers to identify which positions were absolutely necessary for that portion of the company to properly function. They are also planning to reassign employees whose positions were eliminated to other, more necessary positions in the company.

Juul is not backing down by any means, they are also reviewing their open job positions to see which ones are crucial continued expansion.

Since 2017 Juul has grown rapidly, from 225 employees to 4,000. If flavored e-cigarettes end up getting banned Juul will see 80% of its sale evaporate (pun intended).
