Live from Oakland – the Toronto Raptors are NBA Champions bringing the first chip to the franchise.

The Toronto Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors, who were in hopes of a three-peat, but ended up getting ousted in 6 games. Throughout the series, they were the better team on both sides of the ball with Raptor players rising to the occasion.

Kyle Lowry who has the longest tenure with the Raptors was magnificent, scoring 26 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds, three steals and many more moments full of heart and passion. Pascal Siakam redeemed himself with 26-and-10 and Fred VanVleet continued with his series of breakout performances with 22 points off the bench.

The road to the NBA Finals

The Raptor made bold move, after bold move. They made a bet on a controversial franchise player at the time, who may not even stick around to enjoy the title. Hired a first-year head coach who worked the minors for more than two decades!

General Manager Masai Ujiri traded Demar DeRozan for Kawhi Leonard, knowing that Leonard offered no guarantees of remaining in Toronto past the final year on his contract. He proceeded to hire Nurse to replace longtime coach, Dwane Casey after he helped achieved the best regular-season record in franchise history and won Coach of the Year. A mid-season trade for Marc Gasol confirmed that the Raptors were going all in and laying all cards on the table!

The end result, bringing Canada it’s first NBA Championship….but what will happen next season with this “rent-a-team”
