star wars squadrons

Star Wars: Squadrons, a much-anticipated game by EA, had its sneak peek at the Play Live online tournament in mid-June.

The head to head single-player and multiplayer combat battle allows gaming enthusiasts to fly famous starfighters in the first-person. The actual game release date has excited players waiting until the mid-fall release date of October 2, 2020.

The EA game, once out, becomes available for cross-platform use on PS4, Xbox One, and on Origin Epic Games Store and Steam for most digital devices. “Squadrons” also has a VR option for the PS4 and digital devices.

Conceived by the contributors of Anthem and Battlefront II, Motive Montreal, the game promises a wide variety of multiplayer modes. The option of Star Wars ships includes the A-wing, Y-wing, X-wing, U-wing, TIE Fighter TIE Reaper, TIE Bomber, and the TIE Interceptor.

Two multiplayer modes encompassed in the game are Fleet Battles, where a player works with their teammates to obliterate a capital ship and also the traditional dogfighting.

These multiple-stage confrontations put either solo players or five-person teams against other online competitors.

While the attributes of the game focus on multiplayer action, a new single-player expedition resembling the Battle of Endor, allows gamers to pilot for both the Galactic Empire Titan and the New Republic’s Vanguard Squadrons.

Star Wars: Squadrons feature functional and cosmetic upgrades galore, including over 50 earned components that customize ship performance.

Although, Star Wars: Battlefront II has cockpit action in iconic franchise vehicles for players, it’s not since 2003’s Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike for Nintendo GameCube, that a Star Wars game was strictly ardent to battle.

Famous past realistic 90’s combat fighter action was the X-wing and TIE Fighter games for the personal computer.

EA has learned some schooling stemming from a debacle regarding the loot box.

The Star Wars: Squadrons game still offers options for customization extensions like hulls, shields, engines, weapons, as well as for cockpit, ship, and pilot look alteration. Now, the developer ensures these upgrades are obtained only through earning them.

Of course, players have to wait until the release to get a better understanding of Squadrons, but the preview garnered a ton of fanfare and a bunch of expectations.

Excited gamers across the globe can further expect to find out this fall from EA f they are going to release a next-generation version of Star Wars Squadron.

This version is for the upcoming Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 that’s sure to be on top of a majority of game player’s Christmas list this year.
